SKB Cookout!

For months we've been talking with our friends about having a big cookout at the beach but we didn't want to plan it until EVERYONE could come.  Finally this past Sunday, everyone's schedule was wide open!!  We all prepped the night before so we could get to Siesta Key Beach early and claim our favorite spot.  A shady area right next to a beach path, a play ground and the bathrooms... equipped with 4 picnic tables & two grills... everything we need for a big group!

And what a gorgeous day it was too!  Green flags baby!

Siesta Key Beach is a tourist & local hot spot!  It's pretty cool floating in the water with parasailers floating above in the air!

Mike F. & Jimmy were set up on the beach, Brad & Mike hung out for a bit while the kiddos were swimming.

After some time in the water, we worked up an appetite so we fired up the grills!  Us ladies planned the menu... we ALL brought our own drinks, burgers and/or hot dogs, I brought my famous pasta salad & condiments, Sarah brought potato salad & charcoal, Kerri brought corn on the cobs, plates & utensils, Jackie brought cookies & a whole sliced watermelon, my sis-in-law Lauren brought a bunch of buns & chips!  We had plenty of food for everyone!

And... what would a cookout be without throwing a few bags?  We had games going on & off all day!

It was awesome having the playground so close to our picnic area, us parents were able to relax with the kids in sight the whole time!  All the kids ever needed was an occasional drink, trip to the bathroom or dose of sunscreen. 

It was an AWESOME day, and of course it flew by!  Time always does when we're having fun!  With warmer Gulf temperatures & hot Summer days right around the corner, there WILL be many more beach days AND cookouts to come!
